Chef Tim Love graduated from the Haslam College of Business in 1994. Since opening his flagship restaurant, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro (Fort Worth, Texas) in 2000, he has become known for his signature urban western cuisine and savvy business acumen, which has led him to own a succession of highly rated Texas eateries. Love bought the legendary White Elephant Saloon in 2004 and opened Love Shack in 2007. In 2012, he opened the Woodshed Smokehouse, which was named one of Bon Appetit’s 50 Best New Restaurants.

In 2013, Love returned to his hometown of Denton, Texas, to open Queenie’s Steakhouse, featuring a contemporary American menu. In 2016, Love expanded his culinary empire from Texas to Tennessee, where he opened a Lonesome Dove Western Bistro in Knoxville.

Most recently, Love opened Gemelle, a stylish Italian restaurant in Fort Worth that’s distinctly different from his current line of western restaurants. Love has also entered into a partnership with Knoxville-based Pilot Flying J to create fresh, healthy food options for interstate travelers.

Along with owning and running multiple restaurants, Love formerly hosted CNBC’s Restaurant Startup and was a national spokesperson for Thomas’ English Muffins and Hellmann’s Mayonnaise. He has appeared on many national TV shows including Top Chef: The CruiseIron Chef America, and Good Morning America.

Through Love Style Inc., Love’s influence extends into the event and entertainment spheres. He is involved with cultural events around the world including the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Colorado, and major music festivals like Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo. He holds the title of official chef for Austin City Limits and has partnered with Live Nation to roll out Woodshed Smokehouse stands at Live Nation venues across the country.

Love has given his time and dedication to his philanthropies, Burgers 4 Babies, a charity event benefitting premature infants, and Spoons Across America, dedicated to teaching children about healthy nutrition.

Outside of pioneering in the restaurant industry, Love is an avid hunter and Vols fan. He resides in Fort Worth with his wife, Emilie, and their three children.
