Student Alumni Associates

UT’s Student Alumni Associates (SAA) is a student organization that advances the university by enriching the lives of Vols—current students, alumni, and future Volunteers.

Activities

Serve as official host for UT at university and community events

Facilitate campus-wide programming and events that bolster students’ connection to UT, focusing on the importance and impact of philanthropy and lifelong involvement as alumni

Provide support and leadership for the Division of Advancement and Office of Alumni Relations

Benefits

Play central roles in university activities, including Homecoming, commencement, philanthropy programs, leadership weekends, and select athletic events and tailgates

Join SAA

Once accepted, SAA membership lasts throughout a student’s time on campus, so long as they remain in good-standing within the organization. The minimum commitment is one full academic year. SAA membership requirements include:

  • >3.0 cumulative grade point average
  • Enrollment in 12 or more credit hours, both fall and spring semesters
  • Attendance at bi-weekly SAA meetings, every other Tuesday 5:30–6:30 p.m.
  • Attendance and participation at major events as directed, including SAA Leadership Retreat, Big Orange Give, Homecoming alumni events, Celebrate a Vol, Volunteer Leadership and Alumni Board Weekends, I Heart UT Week, and Stewardship events
  • Clean disciplinary record within the university judicial system
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the university, the Office of Alumni Relations, and the Student Alumni Associates program, possessing of a desire to learn, enthusiasm, leadership mindset, responsibility, dependability, maturity, innovation, dedication, and punctuality
