Scott Abbott (’78) is the co-inventor of the board game Trivial Pursuit. The game was created in December 1979 in Montreal, Quebec. In North America, the game’s popularity peaked in 1984, a year in which over 20 million games were sold.

Scott is currently the owner of the North Bay Battalion hockey team of the Ontario Hockey League. For his work in building this hockey club, he was inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, before he invented Trivial Pursuit, Scott was a sports journalist for Canadian Press. He is a 1978 graduate of the College of Communications and Information.
