2021 Alumni Service Award Winner

From graduate student to champion for alumni, Lee Patouillet represents the essence of the Volunteer spirit, which is displayed through his great service to the university.

Patouillet served as associate vice chancellor for alumni affairs for seven years before retiring in early 2020. During his tenure, he was involved with numerous committees and activities and became a familiar face at university events. One of his biggest accomplishments was leading the UT Knoxville Alumni Board of Directors, which ensures that alumni representatives from across the country stay connected to the university.

In addition, Patouillet led the alumni team during the Join the Journey campaign, which raised $1.33 billion and was the most transformational fund raising effort in UT’s history.

Patouillet earned his BA from the University of South Florida before attending UT for his MS in educational psychology. He also holds a PhD in administrative and policy studies from the University of Pittsburgh. Now retired, he has relocated to Pittsburgh with his wife to take an active role in the lives of his grandchildren as well as work with the city’s UT alumni chapter.
