2021 Alumni Service Award Winner

A proud alumnus of the Tickle College of Engineering, Bill Eversole has used his business experience to guide the college in developing strategies, searching for talent, and furthering opportunities available to students.

Eversole earned his BS in electrical engineering in 1973. His career took him to Texas Instruments, where he served in multiple roles, including as an executive for the technology company. After decades with Texas Instruments, Eversole became CEO and president of Bandspeed, a communications technology start-up in Austin.

For decades, Eversole has supported the Tickle College of Engineering. In 2009, he took a more active role serving on the college’s Board of Advisors, including a stint as chair. He has also served on the college’s Dean Search Committee, the UT Knoxville Chancellor Search Committee, and the Heath Integrated Business and Engineering Program Steering Committee.

Eversole and his wife, Jenny, have hosted numerous alumni events over the years. They also give generously, especially to the electrical engineering and computer science program, and encourage other alumni to support UT. Several endowed scholarships and faculty positions have benefited from their generosity. On top of that, Eversole frequently gives of his time to mentor students and connect them with industry opportunities.
