Mark D. Boyatt (’71)

COL Boyatt graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in June 1971 and was commissioned as an Infantry second lieutenant. He later re-branched to Special Forces.

COL Boyatt served in numerous Special Forces command and staff assignments of increasing responsibility including Commander, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, NC; Army Special Operations Task Force Commander during Operation UPHOLD DEMOCRACY in Haiti; and Deputy Commander and Assistant Commandant at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.

Since retirement, COL Boyatt has continued to serve in the Army Special Forces and Special Operations community in a myriad of roles to include consultant, director, Special Operations expert, contractor, and author. He is currently part owner and Senior Consultant for S.R. Martin Group, LLC, a Veterans Administration Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business.

COL Boyatt and his wife, Nancy, reside in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
