After 12 years in various management positions with FedEx, Ken May earned his MBA from the Haslam College of Business in 1994. He served as a FedEx senior vice president until 2004, COO of FedEx/Kinkos until 2006, and FedEx/Kinkos president and CEO until 2008.
After terms as president of ES3 and president and COO of Krispy Kreme, May joined TopGolf as COO in 2013 and was promoted to CEO of US venue operations in 2014. He retired as CEO of TopGolf in 2017 and joined Urban Air Adventure Park in 2018 as its executive chairman. Later that year, he delved back into golf, becoming CEO of Drive Shack, a growing golf entertainment company.
An executive dedicated to his employees, May has transformed the environment of every company he has led. Among his accomplishments are lowering turnover rates and increasing employee satisfaction at each new post.
In 2006, Time featured May in the article “People to Watch in International Business,” and in 2017 he earned the 61st spot on the Highest-Rated CEOs list on Glassdoor. May also served as chair of the National Board of Trustees of the March of Dimes.
