Justice Sharon G. Lee has spent her career pursuing justice, from her early days as the only female lawyer in Madisonville, Tennessee, to her service on the Tennessee Supreme Court. A UT Knoxville graduate in accounting and law, she was the first woman to serve as Monroe County Attorney, Madisonville and Vonore City Attorney, and Madisonville City Judge. In 2004, she became the first woman on the Eastern Section of the Tennessee Court of Appeals, and in 2008, joined the Tennessee Supreme Court, helping form its first female majority. As Chief Justice from 2014 to 2016, she championed access to justice, business court development, and legal system reforms. Justice Lee has received numerous awards and continues to be active in civic and legal communities across the state
