Major General (RET) John R. Tindall, Jr., graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1967 and was commissioned as a 2LT in the Armor Corps.
MG Tindall’s early career was comprised of both leadership and training assignments at the Armor School at Fort Knox, Kentucky and the Army Aviation School at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He departed active duty service in 1974 but continued service in the United States Army Reserve. MG Tindall served in command and staff positions of increasing responsibility culminating as Commander, 100th Division (Institutional Training) in Louisville, KY.
MG Tindall was a managing partner with Five Star Consulting, specializing in DOD and government contracting. He was also involved in real estate management and development in Hardin County, Kentucky.
MG Tindall served in leadership roles for numerous community and civic organizations including co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of USA Cares, a non-profit organization which assists military families in crisis and a board member of the Hardin Memorial Hospital Foundation.
