John L. Della Jacono

Colonel John Della Jacono graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1974 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Military Police Corps. Della Jocono served in a series of command and staff positions of increasing responsibility in military police platoon, company, battalion and brigade units.

Della Jacono served as Deputy Director, European Command for Security Matters. He commanded the United States Army Training Brigade, Fort McClellan, Alabama, and was responsible for training over 7,000 Military Police and Chemical Corps Soldiers annually. He culminated his 30-year active duty career as Chief of Staff, Third United States Army/United States Army Forces Central Command/Coalition Forces Land Component Command. Della Jacono was deployed almost three years of his five-year assignment to the Third United States Army during the Global War on Terrorism.

Following retirement from active duty, Della Jacono continued his service to the nation in the Transportation Security Administration. He served as the Deputy and Federal Security Director at Seattle Tacoma International Airport and Federal Security Director at Kansas City International Airport. He kept the traveling public safe during his ten-year tenure with TSA and expertly balanced security requirements with a customer service focus.

Della Jacono and his wife, Mary, live in Kansas City, Missouri.
