Jim Atchley serves as Knoxville Market President for First Horizon Bank, where he leads all business operations and community involvement. With more than 30 years at First Horizon, Atchley has held numerous leadership roles, most recently overseeing private client and trust groups for East Tennessee. Under his leadership, the bank has expanded its impact and reach, including the creation of a Medical Private Banking division that originated in East Tennessee and has since grown across the company’s footprint.
Atchley is a proud native of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and a two-time graduate of the Haslam College of Business with a bachelor’s and an MBA. He is a Certified Cash Manager and holds Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses, underscoring his expertise in financial services. He has been recognized 13 times as a Diamond Circle honoree, First Horizon’s highest recognition for performance and service.
Atchley is deeply committed to community service. He serves on the boards of the Salvation Army and the Great Smoky Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He has also supported organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, and the Knoxville Chamber. His leadership extends to philanthropy, having led record-breaking campaigns for numerous organizations and championed First Horizon’s gifts to establish UT scholarships and professorships.
