2018 Alumni Service Award Winner
Gregory Cox earned a BS in business administration in 1995 and an MS in accountancy in 1996 from the Haslam College of Business.
Upon graduation, Cox moved to Atlanta and began his career as a staff auditor with Arthur Andersen. Following that, he worked in various financial roles with the American Cancer Society, the Home Depot, Macy’s, and the Simmons Company before joining Georgia Pacific, where he currently serves as a senior financial analyst in Georgia Pacific’s consumer products group.
Cox continues his involvement with UT by serving as a member of the UT Foundation Board of Directors. Previously, he served as president of UT’s Black Alumni Council and as a member of the Alumni Board of Directors, the College of Communication and Information Board of Visitors, and the Department of Accounting Advisory Roundtable.
Cox has also held volunteer leadership positions in community organizations such as Hands On Atlanta Day volunteer chair, Hands On Atlanta TeamWorks Steering Committee, the National Conference for Community and Justice Atlanta, Hands On Atlanta Civic Leadership Program, and MENS (Making Employment the Next Step) Wear Inc.
