Dave Ramsey has dedicated his business and many of his philanthropic efforts to helping individuals get out of debt and secure their financial future. Ramsey, a graduate of the College of Business Administration, has become a household name for his common sense approach to personal finances. His program, Financial Peace University, is taught across the country and gives individuals a realistic plan to tackle debt and financial insecurity. Ramsey also is an author of numerous publications for children and adults. His radio program is broadcast on more than 450 radio stations throughout the United States and Canada.
His work has been featured on Oprah and 60 Minutes, and he is a frequent contributor to national news programs. His company, the Lampo Group, employs more than 300 people and is run entirely debt free. A pillar of Ramsey’s philosophy is charitable giving, so he and his wife, Sharon, have created ‘Share It,’ a foundation that works with other nonprofit organizations such as housing initiatives, domestic violence shelters, and drug and alcohol recovery, among others.
Ramsey has also been a generous contributor to UT. He and Sharon established the Ramsey Global Leadership Scholarship Endowment and he has volunteered his time to talk with current students through the Accomplished Alumnus program and College of Business classes.
