Christopher LaPorte graduated from the Haslam College of Business in 1975 and the College of Law in 1978.
As board chair of Coastal Financial Holdings, Inc., he has helped the business become the nation’s largest volume issuer of Small Business Administration guaranteed-loan pools.
Knowing the value of philanthropy, LaPorte mentors Haslam College of Business students through the LaPorte Torch Fund and travels to UT regularly as a guest lecturer. He and his family established a scholarship endowment for the UT College of Law and regularly supports the UT Athletics Department and the Haslam College of Business Finance Enrichment Fund.
LaPorte has served as a member of the Haslam College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council, the UT Foundation Board, and the UT Development Council.
