Chad Foster is a 2000 graduate of the Haslam College of Business. Robbed by a rare genetic eye disease, retinitis pigmentosa (RP), Chad became blind while he was a student at UT. Initially he was studying nursing, but changed his major to business administration when he no longer could see to perform lab projects and experiments.
Refusing to live according to what he lacked, Chad read his books and notes through the eyes of his mother, who would record telephone-book-sized books for him after working all day as a bookkeeper. He received his degree in finance in 2000.

Chad moved to Atlanta and started his financial career at Accenture. Breaking glass ceilings that were seemingly off-limits because he was blind, Chad has climbed the IT field ladder of success. He has been a consultant responsible for writing code, a marketing analyst, and currently is a senior pricing strategist with SRA International, a global defense and IT contractor. He’s churning out multi-million-dollar bids and proposals. And he is the only person in the world who is able to integrate a high-tech customer service application with JAWS (a software especially equipped for those who are blind).
