When Kayla Hvozdovic (’24) received the Carol Poston Scholarship, it meant the ability to attend UT and chase her dreams of a career in the entertainment industry.

UT’s crowdfunding platform helped the Law Women organization to engage with a larger audience and streamline the donation process.

UT’s Vols of Honor Scholarship has doubled its number of awards in just two years, impacting 23 students this fall. The scholarship program began in 2022 and benefits students with a parent or spouse who was disabled or killed in the line of duty as a military service member or first responder.

Vols poured out support for UT on Big Orange Give, our annual day of giving that directly supports students and initiatives. The 12th annual event raised more than $2.5 million — far exceeding the $1.5 million goal.

Legendary NFL quarterback Peyton Manning gathered with Chancellor Donde Plowman and other leaders from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, on Aug. 27 to honor the newest recipients of the Peyton Manning Scholarship, a highly competitive four-year award given to four incoming students each year. 

The Mary Gunther Endowed Scholarship ensures her legacy will continue, fueling the pipeline for nursing education at UT and impacting health care through future Volunteer nurses.

Carol Poston understands firsthand how access to higher education can change lives. This is why she created the Carol Poston Scholarship Endowment, which has supported many students for the past 15 years.

Just as UT helped carry the torch for Joni and Bob, Goan Scholars will have their path to a UT degree lit by two generous Vols who went before them.
