Brooks Morelock is a dynamic design leader who blends architecture, interior design, and product design to deliver innovative, human-centered solutions. With a career spanning multiple sectors—including tech, media, financial services, and professional services—Morelock brings deep workplace expertise and a passion for solving complex challenges with logic, creativity, and enthusiasm.
Specializing in large-scale projects often exceeding one million square feet, Morelock has earned a reputation for leading progressive, high-impact design initiatives. He believes every challenge is an opportunity and approaches each project with confidence and curiosity. From early in his career he has quickly expanded his role by consistently delivering innovative results for clients. In 2023, he was named Principal at Gensler, one of the world’s most respected architecture firms.
Beyond his professional achievements, Morelock is deeply committed to mentorship and advancing the design profession. As Co-Chair of Education for the IIDA NY Chapter, he has helped over 300 interior designers achieve licensure in New York City. At Gensler, he leads gConnect, an internal program that empowers emerging leaders across the firm. In 2019, Morelock was honored as an ASID “Ones to Watch” Scholar, a national leadership development program for minority designers. He now serves on the selection committee, helping to elevate underrepresented voices in the industry.
Morelock received his bachelor’s in architecture from the College of Architecture and Design and is proud of the Volunteer legacy shared with his mother, Debbie Morelock (’77), and sister, Erin Morelock (’08).
