More than 1,250 Volunteers showed up this spring to welcome the incoming Class of 2029 to Rocky Top. These alumni sent postcards and dedicated social media posts to newly committed students as part of our annual Welcome-A-Vol initiative.
Welcome-A-Vol aims to make new Vols feel right at home before they even step foot on campus, thanks to personal and public greetings from the Big Orange family. Participants sign up to write postcards to five incoming students and share at least one social media post on New Vol Day, held this year on April 25. To make welcoming a breeze, we send participants a toolkit with writing materials and an exclusive “It’s Great to be a Tennessee Vol” flag that’s perfect for selfies.
