Where is the UT Knoxville Office of Alumni Affairs?

Tyson Alumni House. 1609 Melrose Avenue, Knoxville, TN, 379996 (Phone: 865.974.3011). Located just across the street from Hodges Library, and the College of Business. Located near Greve and Massy Halls, Career Services (Dunford Hall) and the International House. Keep in mind there is another Tyson House close by, which serves as the Episcopalian and Lutheran Campus Ministry for UT Knoxville.

What is the difference between the UTK Office of Alumni Affairs and the UT Alumni Association?

Both are located in Tyson Alumni House and both entities serve UT Knoxville alumni. The UT Knoxville Office of Alumni Affairs staff provides programming and services specifically for UT Knoxville alumni. The UT Alumni Association represents and serves alumni from all the UT campuses (Chattanooga, Knoxville, Martin, the Health Science Center in Memphis, and the Space Institute in Tullahoma).

What are the requirements to be considered an alumnus of UTK?

You must have completed 30 hours of academic work to be considered a UTK alumnus. There are no dues required.

What are the office hours of the Tyson House?

8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. We are closed when the university is closed (see the UT website for administrative closings).

What are some of the programs offered by the UTK Office of Alumni Affairs?

Homecoming, Student Alumni Associates (SAA), Senior Gift, Alumni Summer College, Young Alumni, Golden Grad Reunion, Tennessee Apprentice Program, Accomplished Alumni Series, Black Alumni Associates, the list goes on and continues to grow…

What’s the history of the Tyson Alumni House?

Our beautiful home once belonged to Lawrence D. Tyson, a prominent Knoxville citizen and philanthropist. How do I get information on your publications or submit classnotes information?

We send out a monthly e-mail with UTK alumni information (the e-Torch). There is a UTK alumni publication that circulates periodically (Torchbearer). And there is a UT system publication that circulates periodically (Alumnus). All are published by the Office of Communications and Marketing.

You may submit your own online classnote by joining the Alumni Online Community.

Who do I contact for campus tours?

The UTK Office of Undergraduate Admissions. You can even sign up for a Campus Visit using their online form.

I am a UT alum and want to try and find my long-lost roommate. How can I do that?

Since you are a UT alum, you can go to the UT Online Community and look up any other UT alum. You must login as a UT alum. You may also sign up for a free UTalumni.org email address.

I am interested in being involved with UT activities. How can I get involved?

We have a large number of opportunities for you. We utilize volunteers for leadership on boards and councils, student recruiting, chapter planning, etc. The best solution would be to call our office at 800-598-2586 and speak with one of our Alumni Directors and they can gauge your interests and direct you to an area of your desire.

How do I change my address or other contact information with UT?

You may go to the online directory and make the changes yourself or call us at 800-598-2586.
